That made me bust out laughing, given that I've spent lo these many years in Australia and still don't know anything about cricket beyond the fact that you break for tea. But yes, argh, I know the feeling. I am obsessed with writing correct local geography in my fic (Google Maps is your friend) and have thrown in references to local radio stations, I hate it when other people can't be arsed to do the research.
